Welcome to Heart month, aka Valentines Day month, aka Presidents Day month....definitely a busy fun month! Add to that we have 29 days in February which means it is LEAP YEAR. So Leaps and Bounds Dance Academy will be celebrating LEAP YEAR! Yaaaay, cookies the last week in February!!!

We are excited to announce that the American Fork Chamber of Commerce elected our own Miss Katie, teacher and owner, for "Business Person of the Year" out of hundreds considered. She came in second and we are really, really proud of her! Take a moment to congratulate her on this important achievement. She was honored at a luncheon Wed, Feb 5, 2020.

On other notes:

Summer class registration opens March 1, 2020 so plan to sign up for a fun summer class or two...details to come in the near future.

Recital dances will start being taught Feb & March - Please try to have your students in class, it is important. Music will be out on the Parent Portal shortly. That way the students can practice, practice, practice at home. We can't wait to see our cute students in the yearly recital.

Adult Class Reminder - Tap is 8:30 PM-9:30 PM Tuesdays, and Ballet Jazz combo is 8:30 PM-9:30 PM on Wednesdays, come join us for a class. I know I am still trying to get in shape and lose those 5 pounds we all gain over the holidays :). Taking an adult class will definitely help with that.

SHARE THE LOVE - Double bonus referral (bonus referral is a $10 credit, doubled to $20 this month only) for any student when a friend signs up for class in February. Free money, yeah!!!!

We have lots of leotards, white, black and Burgundy for $14.00 and we can add the Leaps and Bounds Logo for free if you would like. We also have pink ballet slippers in all sizes for $12.00, and tights in white and ballet pink in all sizes for $8.00 each. We have Leaps and Bounds Dance Academy Tee shirts as well. Miss Katie will be putting out her list of what tights are needed for what dance in the recital soon. You may want to make your purchase for recital early. We tend to get low toward recital time. Our tights, Leos and shoes are dance supplier quality, but we try and keep them in line with retailers like Target and Walmart.

Welcome to the new year, the last year in this decade. I dont know about all of you, but I certainly indulged in all the candy, cake, food and other goodies over Christmas! And now I am getting ready to write that New Years resolution list. You may be doing the same thing. On the top of my list is getting some much needed exercise and we have just the thing if it is at the top of your list too. We have adult tap, ballet and hip hop classes to get you back in tip top shape. And the classes are very reasonably priced. We also accept Freeplay memberships. Come join one of our adult classes.

Free dance week is from Jan 7th thru Jan 11th, so if you know anyone who has thought about taking dance invite them to come try a free class or two. They can get to know our studio and awesome teachers and sign up.

We will be starting our recital prep in February, and with that in mind, if you don‘t want your child to do the recital you will need to come and fill out the form at the front desk before Jan 25th . Otherwise, in February you will be charged the $30 recital fee. We are excited to start prep for our second annual Leaps and Bounds Dance Academy recital!

Have a great New Years Eve and New Years Day. Be safe out there and we look forward to seeing our incredible students back to class starting January 6th.

This month has been so busy, we are a little late getting our blog out. We have had a fun December so far. There has been Polar Express Day and this week many moms are joining their children in dance class for Parents Week. It has been really fun to see all the parents come, and the only cost was some cans of food for the charity Tabitha's way.

There is still time to give the gift of dance to someone you know who is not currently taking dance. For $55 the gift bag contains ballet slippers, tights and a certificate for a month of dance. This is for new students, so maybe you know someone who would love the gift of dance for Christmas.

We have some incredibly talented dancers, and we just had several of them move to being "On Point". They got to go get their point shoes, and then learn how to sew their ribbons themselves and how to tie the ribbons as well. This is a right of passage for ballerina's as they move up through the ranks of learning to dance "en pointe". We are very proud of them!

Christmas break is coming up soon, we will be closing December 21, 2019 and when we come back on Jan 6 we will officially be in 2020 and it is back to the Barr. We love our students and wish you and your parents a very happy holiday season. Go eat too many cookies, sing your hearts out, do some helping of others, and share what you have with those who don't.
